Drawing with Oil Colors
I acquired the technique of painting in oil during my art studies at the Textile Academy of Moscow. Painting with oil is generally considered as the classical supreme discipline.
This way of painting requires skillful handling of such devices as oil, diluting agents and the topic of the painting. Painting with oil is done in layers, and you can easily discover those layers of color on my drawings.
Painting in oil is a solid trade that needs to be learned. Although it is a lot of work, the painting itself can last for generations. With my drawings, I use a special technique of oil painting. As you can see in my gallery, I focus on a special detail or area on the picture. The background disappears, and the focus is on a special facial expression or a detail. This painting technique requires really a lot of paint, and so my finished oil drawing has a certain plasticity.
The Art of Painting that arouses Emotions
I have a very close connection to the first four paintings in my gallery. For example, I have drawn my husband in the picture called “personality”, not in the way he looks on photos, but how I emotionally perceive him. The choice of colors for a painting is very important for me, because then I am able to express those emotions I would like to illustrate.
