The watercolour “A beautiful day full of harmony is like a gem” is a wine label design for the “Diedenbergener Sonnenhang 2015” from the municipal vineyard of the town of Hofheim am Taunus.
Although I live in a beer town, I also like wine.
My husband and I have friends in Königswinter with whom we have visited Neustadt an der Weinstraße and Bad Dürkheim, among other places. These are classic wine-growing regions in Germany. The idyllic vineyards, the wine festivals, the charming landscape, friendly company and lots of fun inspired me to design a picture label for a wine.
The watercolour “A beautiful day full of harmony is like a gem” was painted in 2016. A young couple enjoys a beautiful sunny day with a picnic in the vineyard, tasting fine wines and spending a wonderfully relaxed time. The landscape with the church tower of Diedenbergen in the background invites you to take a long walk and explore the beautiful area. The choice of colours puts the emotional qualities of the colours at the service of the overall effect and radiates joy of life. Besides pure watercolour techniques, opaque acrylic paint is also used.
Many small, loving details in the foreground and middle ground give this colourful picture its special charm.
